2024 Dr Edge Pinot Rain Pinot Noir
Bright, gluggable Pinot Noir from the master with the medical license (not really!), Dr Edge.
With Tassie Pinot prices soaring, we thank Peter Dredge for creating a "vin de soif" style Pinot Noir that brings all the goodness of Tasmanian vineyards without the hefty price tag.
Deliciously red-fruited and easygoing, it's a wine that's ready to go whenever you are. Pop it in the fridge for a minute before serving if you want, drink it in the Purple Rain with your favourite frog or Prince.
Another glass of Pinot Noir goodness from our favourite Tassie Doctor.
2023 Jean Paul Dubost Beaujolais-Villages Lantignie Rouge
The effortlessly delicious 2022 Jean Paul Dubost Beaujolais-Villages Lantignié Rouge is a wine that delivers cru quality at a remarkable value.
Domaine Dubost Morgon, established in 1902, is now helmed by fourth-generation vigneron Jean-Paul Dubost who is dedicated to organic farming and non-interventionist winemaking. Produced using classic semi-carbonic maceration of whole clusters, this Gamay is bottled with minimal intervention, no added sulphur and just a light filtration.
On the nose, this Beaujolais-Villages Lantignié offers enticing aromas of earth, wild berries, and a touch of peppercorn. The palate is round and creamy, with a medium body, fine tannins, and a succulent character. The wine’s beautifully balanced nature leads to a powerfully aromatic and fresh finish.
A super value Beaujolais from an excellent, modern winemaker.
2021 Matane Primitivo
Matané’s approach to winemaking captures the untapped potential of Puglia’s Salento Peninsula, a region where rich red soils, abundant sunshine, and limestone-heavy terrain give rise to distinctive, high-quality wines. Founded in 2008 by the Empson family, Matané represents a fresh wave of southern Italian winemaking, steering away from the overly heavy, stewed wines of the past towards a more balanced and expressive style.
This particular wine highlights the vibrancy of Puglia’s native Primitivo, thanks to careful fermentation and maceration in steel. The nose bursts with ripe raspberries and blackberries, layered with earthy undertones, dried herbs, and a floral lift. On the palate, it’s all about richness and concentration—candied figs, dark cherries, and a subtle spice glide seamlessly, framed by gentle tannins and a lively acidity that keeps everything in balance.
With a philosophy of moderate alcohol and restrained extractions, the Empson family honours Puglia’s traditions while crafting wines with freshness and modern appeal.
2022 Windance Cabernet Merlot
If you’re hunting for a top-tier Margaret River Cabernet blend that won’t break the bank, this is absolutely worth a look. Priced at just $30 and scoring 97 points from Nick Ryan, it’s remarkable value from a region known for its premium wines (often with premium price tags).
Crafted by the dynamic duo Billie and Tyke Wheatley, this biodynamic estate has quietly become one of the stars of Margaret River, blending a focus on sustainable farming with an unmistakable connection to their land.
This wine offers a gorgeous balance of ripe blackcurrant, juicy plum, and subtle cedar, all underpinned by vibrant acidity and finely structured tannins. It’s the kind of Cabernet Merlot that delivers richness and depth without feeling heavy—making it equally suited for pairing with a roast or sipping on its own. The 2022 vintage, with its lower yields and beautiful natural acidity, brings a level of freshness and detail that makes it stand out even in a region renowned for excellence.
What sets Windance apart is Tyke’s dedication to hands-on winemaking, from organic vineyard management to minimal intervention in the winery. This approach lets the fruit from their Yallingup vineyard speak for itself, resulting in wines that are not only delicious but also reflect a real sense of place.
At this price point, the 2022 Windance Cabernet Merlot is a rare find in Margaret River. Whether you’re looking to enjoy it now or stash it away for a few years, it’s a wine that overdelivers on quality and is well worth adding to your collection.

"There’s a cooling calm, a quiet precision, to this wine. Bay leaf and blackcurrant, a whiff of rubbed lavender and smoking sage. Superfine, high-def tannins taper the wine beautifully, finishing with a dry, willowy grace. At this price, if it had actually won the trophy last year, would be long gone now. Let my error be your benefit."

2023 Yangarra GSM
The Yangarra GSM is a class act. This single vineyard wine from the stunning Yangarra estate sets a high bar for all others in the region.
Winemaker Peter Fraser has focused his attention on producing the country's finest iterations of Rhone varieties and this is arguably his best version of this classic blend to date.
The dizzying aromatics and succulent fruit of Grenache meets the plum/choc combo of McLaren Vale Shiraz and the grunt of Mourvedre.
This is the quintessential McLaren Vale red.

"Naturally, this is grenache-led. And not just by numbers, but by flavour, lithe weight and architecture. Wild raspberry, damson and tart blackberry, with a liberal dusting of ground spices, dipping both into baking and master stock territory. The balance of varieties is à point, the tension, fine tannin, verve and energetic drive compelling. It is a finely wrought and keenly frisky expression. Superb, especially for the tariff."
- Marcus Ellis (Halliday Wine Companion)

"A delightful elegant and expressive medium-bodied wine from Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale. It was gently treated from the outset to preserve the delicate fruit characters of this cool vintage. To that end, it was matured in a mix of old French oak puncheons, ceramic eggs and amphora for about 8 months. It’s balanced with dry chalky characters merging with the bright red fruits of the varieties with structure and definition. I could drink a bit of this."

2022 Ravensworth Regional Shiraz Blend
There just weren't enough wines in the sprawling Ravensworth Regional range... Well that's according to Bryan Martin, anyway. So here comes an excellent little Shiraz blend for your drinking pleasure.
"Super excited to welcome this blend in our regional range..."
- Bryan Martin
This wine is a little unusual in that the fruit comes from the opposite sides of the country. Bryan had access to a parcel of phenomenal fruit on the Swinney vineyard in the Frankland River region of Western Australia. This is highly prized bush vine Grenache and Mourvedre which is in high demand by WA's best producers. But there just wasn't enough to make a decent-sized release, so Bryan blended it with some top-quality Shiraz from the Hilltops and Murrumbateman regions, much closer to home.
It's a classic Ravensworth red. Mid-weight, supple in texture and just damn delicious down to its toes. If you are a fan of basically anything Bryan makes (like we are), you'll want to add this beauty into your regular Ravensworth rotation.
"The fragrant bouquet and fresh zesty palate makes the Grenache and Mourvedre, rather than the Shiraz, dominant."
- 95 pts, James Halliday (The Weekend Australian)

Ordering
We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.
- The price match cannot be used in conjunction with a coupon or one-off deal we are offering. The idea is for you to get the best price in the market so if that is already achieved through a coupon then we won't price match on top of that.
- We don't price match clearance or fire sales.
- We’ll match the listed price as long as it is a legitimate offer and the competing store is actually able to fulfil the order (they have stock or more stock is en route). Essentially we won't price match cheeky vendors listing wines they have no hope of actually getting for you...
- It must be a publicly listed price. We won't match a price that has been achieved through a coupon/cash-back arrangement, or through a non-advertised offer over the phone or otherwise.
- It is limited to a reasonable retail quantity.
We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.
At the end of the day, we'll look after you and use common sense to ensure you're getting the best price, please just don't take the p%$$!
No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.
We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.
To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.
If you want to bulk order gifts or if you have any trouble please email hello@differentdrop.com or call and we can try and help.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
